Firm History
The law firm of Hunegs, LeNeave & Kvas has a 80-year history of representing injured plaintiffs. Our firm’s founder, William DeParcq, was himself an injury victim. Through the years the firm has grown and has been involved in high-profile national cases resulting from airplane, train and maritime disasters.

In addition to supporting the firm’s paralegals and lawyers, Sherri works directly with clients leading with her endless compassion and deep knowledge of the firm and case work. Sherri’s assistance is felt on FELA, NFL workers’ compensation and personal injury cases.

What drives Hannah in her work is her deep commitment to helping clients during their most challenging times. Having navigated her own personal injury cases, she understands firsthand the importance of compassionate support and advocacy. Callie has always loved the law. It’s what led her to pursue a paralegal degree at the Minnesota School of Business 11 years ago. For the past three years, she’s supported the HLK team through client communication, file management, and preparing for trial. Callie’s key area focus is on the firm’s FELA cases.

Cori has been with HLK for more than 40 years. She’s deeply knowledgeable in FELA cases and knows intimately the ins and outs of trial work. Cori is a fierce advocate for HLK’s clients. She prides herself on her compassionate and collaborative nature, which is felt throughout the firm. Cori earned her BA at the College of St. Benedict and a Certificate of Paralegal Studies at the University of San Diego.

With 43 years of experience in the legal field, Shelley Emick is a highly skilled and dedicated legal administrative assistant specializing in FELA (Federal Employers Liability Act) law. Over the course of her distinguished career, she has worked at three law firms, building a deep knowledge of legal procedures and providing crucial support to attorneys and clients. For the past 12 years, Shelley has been a key member of the team at HLK where she has honed her expertise in FELA law, assisting in the representation of railroad workers who have been injured on the job. Her extensive experience in this niche area of law allows her to effectively manage complex case files, prepare legal documents, and facilitate communications between clients, attorneys, and courts. Shelley’s dedication to her work is evident in her ability to handle the intricacies of legal administration with precision and efficiency. Known for her organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities, she is an invaluable asset to the legal teams she supports. Her wealth of experience, particularly in FELA cases, makes her an expert in navigating the often complex and sensitive legal issues faced by injured workers.
Joe Dolan
Chief Investigator, Field Rep Division
Joe Dolan
Joe leads HLK’s Field Rep division as the chief investigator, bringing over two decades of experience in FELA (Federal Employers Liability Act) cases. He began his career in 1998 shortly after graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice, which included training in accident investigation and reconstruction. To further enhance his expertise, Joe attended the Academy of Railroad Science, combining academic knowledge with practical railroad experience. Throughout his career, Joe has dedicated himself to assisting trial teams in investigating cases on behalf of injured railroad workers across the nation. He has personally investigated thousands of cases and has worked with nearly every railroad and railroad craft, gaining valuable insights into the accidents that occur within industry. Beyond his investigative work, Joe is passionate about educating railroad workers. He actively engages with them through phone consultations and by attending union meetings to share his knowledge and support their needs. Coming from a family with deep roots in railroading, both in the courtroom and in the field, Joe possesses extensive knowledge of railroad rules, practices, and the federal standards that govern the industry. further solidifying his role as a leading expert in the field. Joe is also a licensed FAA drone pilot, utilizing this skill to enhance his investigative and reconstruction capabilities.

Jill has been with the HLK team for nearly five years. She contributes to the firm in many invaluable ways, providing trial teams with project and case management as well as leading client communications. Jill is a dedicated and compassionate team member, who deeply enjoys supporting her clients and the firm. Jill earned her AAS and BS Degrees in Business Management form Rasmussen University.

Kelly joined the HLK team in 2025, bringing with her five years of experience in the legal field, all dedicated to advocating for injured workers. She earned her bachelor’s degree in History from Metropolitan State University and completed her paralegal certificate with honors, earning recognition from Phi Theta Kappa for academic excellence. At HLK, Kelly supports FELA cases, helping ensure railroad workers receive the representation they deserve. She is dedicated to her work—whether it’s meeting a deadline or supporting a client who needs someone in their corner, she brings focus, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility to every case.
